The construction of the museum takes the folk customs of northern Ningxia as its main theme, supplemented by local diverse cultures and embodied through the folk traditions of Longquan Village. It signifies that the Dawukou District has reached a new level in inheriting and protecting cultural heritage and developing rural cultural initiatives. It is a folk culture museum in our city and also the first of its kind in Ningxia. The museum currently houses 12 exhibition stands and one polychrome sculpture group, with over 380 exhibits in its collection.
The museum not only provides an authentic portrayal of everyday family life for ordinary people but also offers an objective representation of the regional culture of Dawukou. It reflects the simple folkways, rich cultural heritage, and the boundless charm of folk culture among the people of Dawukou. It also holds the profound cultural essence of the northern land. Additionally, it serves as an educational base for primary and secondary schools in Shizuishan City and the Committee on the Care of the Next Generation to teach young people about folk culture.
