Mengyang Elephant Tree

　　    The Mengyang Elephant Tree is located about 200 meters from the road in Mengyang Town. A towering ancient banyan tree over twenty meters high, with lush, swaying foliage, has aerial roots that form a large circular arch through which even a car can pass. A large cluster of buttress roots at the base of the trunk resembles a natural rockery. One thick trunk, as wide as a man’s embrace, bends to the ground, then rises and falls again—three rises and three falls—extending over ten meters before finally standing upright to form a tree crown, shaped like a coiling dragon. Among these, the junction of two thick aerial roots resembles the shape of an elephant.
