Badouzi Fishing Port

Badouzi Fishing Port was built in 1975 and is the largest fishing port in northern Taiwan. The adjacent fishing village often features spread-out dried seaweed (Gelidium) and rows of “fish sheds.” This is a well-known fish processing hub in Taiwan, handling catches such as squid, anchovies, mackerel, and flying fish roe.

Wishing Valley is a V-shaped valley located between Badouzi and Changtanli. The entire valley is covered in lush green grass with undulating terrain. From here, you can enjoy a close-up view of Badouzi Fishing Port and gaze out at Keelung Islet in the sea. You can also descend via steps. Following a small path beside the cliff top leads down to a beach about 20 meters wide, featuring geological formations such as wave-cut platforms and tofu rock. The combination of sandy and rocky terrain makes it ideal for shell collecting, crab catching, and tide playing.

If you hike up to the hilltop platform along the circumferential mountain road, the panoramic view offers vast blue waters. At night, the twinkling fishing boats on the sea complement the lights along the coastal highway, creating a stunning night scene. Alternatively, you can look back at the glowing lights of Jiufen’s mountain town, which also has a unique charm.
