HuiKeng Site (First Batch Provincial-Level Protected Site)
Period: Neolithic Age
Address: 100 meters west of HuiKeng Village, Yangyu Township, Wenxi County
Located on the piedmont slope south of Zijin Mountain at the northeastern edge of the Yuncheng Basin, the terrain slopes from north to south. Discovered in 1954, the site currently covers an area of 15,000 square meters. Only ash pits have been found among the remains at the site, while a large number of pottery fragments are exposed on the ground and along the cliff edges. Identifiable vessel shapes include bowls, basins, jars, cups, and bottles from the Yangshao Culture, as well as li tripods, flanged jars, cups, and basins from the Longshan Culture. The cultural characteristics of the site are attributed to the Miaodigou type of the Yangshao Culture. The site remains well-preserved.
