Huilong Mountain
“Ancient Southern Sacred Mountain” Huilong Mountain is one of the “Eight Ancient Scenic Spots” of Zixing. It is situated in Tuanjie Yao Ethnic Township in the northeastern part of Zixing City, with an elevation of 1,420 meters and a total area of 16 square kilometers. At the mountaintop stands an ancient temple and a Sky-Gazing Terrace, both built with stone slabs. An incomplete stone plaque at the ancient temple bears the inscription “Ancient Southern Sacred Mountain Huilong Mountain”; the temple faces south with its back to the north.

The entire scenic area features terrain with three sheer cliffs and one slope, surrounded by beautiful mountains and clear waters, creating enchanting scenery. To the south and east, it echoes the Dongjiang Lake tourist area; to the east, it connects closely with the Mausoleum of Emperor Yan and Jinggang Mountain; to the north, it faces Mount Nanyue; and to the west, it links with Feitian Mountain and Suxian Ridge. The scenic area contains over 150 natural attractions and more than 120 historical and cultural sites, and is home to the Yao ethnic community.
