The Luo River, as it flows through Mingjiao Village, is obstructed by Huzhu Mountain ahead. The once rapidly flowing river makes a 360-degree turn and then surges forward again, with the torrent churning and creating deep whirlpools. After a while, the water flow gradually weakens and the surface becomes calm. Every ten minutes or so, the river waves rise again, with the roaring sound of water as the torrents reverse their course. This cycle of flow and reversal continues from morning till night, repeating over and over. Reversing Bay—where the water flows backward. News of Mingjiao’s Reversing Bay spread quickly, drawing people from hundreds of miles around who flocked to witness the bay’s unique spectacle.

The “Reversing Bay” in the village is famous for its backward-flowing river, forming a remarkable natural landscape. Visitors can play in the shallow riverbed, catching fish and shrimp, rediscovering the long-lost joy of childhood. Among the scenic highlights are “Crab Lake View,” where leaves float on the water’s surface, flowers emerge from the clear water, fish play among the lotus leaves, and tree reflections hang upside down; “Boat Ride for Distant Views,” where a gentle river breeze greets you and lush greenery lines both banks, offering delightful and unique scenery. There is also a centuries-old village treasure—the medicinal tree, the majestic “Huzhu Mountain,” the enchanting “Beauty Weaving Cloth,” and the classic Chinese-style “Buzheng Mansion” and “Jinjiang Tower,” among other attractions.

Currently, the Reversing Bay Sightseeing and Holiday Resort has built a tourist restaurant capable of hosting 500 diners at once, along with multiple holiday villas. It has also developed recreational activities such as beach volleyball, rock climbing, speedboat surfing, and bamboo raft drifting. New projects such as a paintball field and a wellness center are currently under active construction.
