Dawuling
The Dawuling Tourist Area is situated in the northern part of Maoming City, 38 kilometers from Xinyi’s urban area, spanning both Xinyi and Gaozhou. It is composed of the Yunkai Mountain Range and dozens of peaks over 1,000 meters above sea level, featuring continuous, towering mountains, including 29 peaks exceeding 1,500 meters. It serves as a forest park and nature reserve integrating ecological conservation, scientific research, tourism, and highland convalescence.

The main peak of the Dawuling Tourist Area, Datianding, is known as the No. 1 Peak of Western Guangdong. If the elevated terrain of Xinyi is considered the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau of Western Guangdong, then Dawuling is its Himalayas, and Datianding, at an elevation of 1,704 meters, is its Mount Everest. Legend has it that not far from the summit on the eastern side lies a flat expanse of farmland, which gave the peak its name.

On the northern side of the summit stands the television transmission tower of the Guangdong Province 732 TV Relay Station, broadcasting TV signals to the entire Western Guangdong region and even parts of Guangxi. The top of Datianding is covered with dense primeval forests and boasts incredibly beautiful scenery. Beside the summit stand three small hills that, when viewed from afar, resemble three resting cranes—an enchanting sight. Known as “Heavenly Lake,” the alpine reservoir is embraced by verdant mountains and lush trees, with crystal-clear waters. When clouds and mist rise, the peaks appear and disappear like a scene from a fairyland, creating a dreamy view. Watching the sunrise in the early morning, the red sun bursts forth, with rays of light scattering everywhere. As the mist clears, the sky becomes pristine, the peaks turn emerald green, and the air is fresh as if filtered.
