The Zhonggu Lou (Bell and Drum Tower) of Dianbai
The Bell and Drum Tower is situated at the crossroads of Diancheng Town and was constructed in the seventh year of the Tianqi era of the Ming Dynasty (1672). In the second year of the Chongzhen era (1629), County Magistrate Li Qi converted the tower into the Wenchang Pavilion, inscribing the plaque with the words “Cloud Gate.” During the Kangxi era of the Qing Dynasty, County Magistrate Guo Zhinan renovated the structure. After further repairs by County Magistrate Jiang Shangong in the 23rd year of the Jiaqing era, the tower has survived to this day.
