Lingya Temple
Lingya Temple is a provincial-level key cultural relics protection unit and a national 2A-level tourist attraction, located on the Jialing River bank, 3.5 kilometers south of the county town. Leveraging two natural karst caves in the cliffs, it ingeniously combines natural and cultural landscapes, creating a uniquely charming atmosphere. The temple’s pavilions and halls are built along the mountain slope, arranged in a well-balanced and picturesque layout. The caves are grand and seem to hang in the sky. The architecture and murals are distinctive. The region’s largest bronze Buddha statue—the Pilu Buddha—is uniquely crafted, and there are over 130 cliff inscriptions, most notably the Eastern Han Dynasty’s “Gao Ge Song,” as well as engravings by literati from various dynasties. It is hailed as the “Little Forest of Stone Tablets in Southern Shaanxi” and boasts unique natural scenery.
