Yanchi Revolutionary Martyrs Memorial Park is one of the 100 classic red tourism scenic spots in China, a patriotic education base in Ningxia, a national defense education base in Ningxia, a national AAA-level tourist attraction, and one of Ningxia’s “Top Ten” Integrity Tourist Attractions.

The memorial park is located within the Huamasi National Forest Park, covering an area of over 400 acres with a total investment of 22.29 million yuan. Construction began in September 2005 and was completed in September 2006. It features two main structures—the Revolutionary Martyrs Memorial Hall and the China Tan Sheep Museum—as well as auxiliary projects including Liberation Square, the Liberation Monument, the Red Army Cemetery, the sculpture of Wang Gui and Li Xiangxiang, the Mass Production Millhouse, and the Group of Sheep sculpture.

The memorial hall is a two-story (partially three-story) frame structure with a construction area of 3,380 square meters. It displays over a thousand cultural relics, recreating Yanchi’s brilliant yet arduous 13-year revolutionary journey from political, economic, military, and cultural perspectives.

Liberation Square is paved with red bricks, symbolizing the “Red Square,” and covers an area of 19.36 acres, representing the year 1936 when Yanchi was liberated. The Liberation Monument features three stylized bayonets made of stainless steel, standing 27 meters tall in total—6 meters below the olive wreath and 21 meters above, together with the 19.36-acre square symbolizing the liberation of Yanchi at 3:00 a.m. on June 21, 1936.

The Red Army Cemetery consists of a monument, a remembrance square, and an altar, engraved with the names and deeds of 79 martyrs from Yanchi, serving as a key commemorative site within the memorial park.
