The Hussein National Park began construction in February 2000 to commemorate the first anniversary of the death of the late King Hussein of Jordan. The Chinese government donated 450 cypress saplings to the park, while the Beijing Municipal Government contributed a 200-square-meter Chinese landscape. The King attended the groundbreaking ceremony on February 7, 2000. In 2002, Beijing completed the construction of the "China Garden" within the park, covering approximately 200 square meters, featuring structures such as a sundial, an octagonal pavilion, and a decorative stone pillar.
One of the most attractive attractions in Hussein Park is a garden landscape situated on a hillside, covering about 70 acres (28,000 square meters). The garden includes clear lakes, a variety of plants and trees, stone tombs at varying heights, pavilions, sand dunes, and representative buildings from different historical periods. The park’s ethnic cultural village is a plaza surrounded by shops selling Jordanian handicrafts, primarily designed to showcase Jordan’s cultural heritage to both locals and visitors. In addition, there are other distinctive areas in the park worth exploring.
