Tomb of Xue Song (First Batch Provincial-Level Protected Site)

Address: 300 meters north of Dazhang Village, Shuitou Town, Xia County
Xue Song, given name Yin, courtesy name Song (?–772), was a native of Wanquan in Hedong (present-day Wanrong County). He was the grandson of Xue Rengui. Xue Song helped suppress the An Lushan Rebellion, served as Right Vice Director of the Imperial Secretariat and concurrently Censor-in-Chief, Prefect of Xiangzhou, Military Governor of Zhaowen Army, and was granted the title of Prince of Pingyang.
The tomb faces south and covers an area of 832 square meters. It consists of the burial chamber, passage, patio, entrance tunnel, wall niches, and ramp. The earthen mound has a height of 2.45 meters and a circumference of 91 meters. In front of the tomb stands a spirit way stele from the eighth year of the Dali era (773) during the Tang Dynasty. Two stone sheep remain at the site. Approximately 20 square meters of murals are preserved inside the passage.
