Futing
The Futing and Confucius Temple Historical District is the core of the Zhangzhou Historic and Cultural City Preservation Zone. The North Shixing Road in the district is commonly known as "Futing," and Zhongshan Park to the north was the site of the ancient Zhangzhou Prefecture government office. The buildings on both sides of "Futing" were originally the "Yingbin Hotel," constructed in 1919 during the administration of Chen Jiongming. Historically, this was a gathering place for traditional Zhangzhou snacks, offering a full variety such as hand-grabbed noodles, dry-mixed noodles, tofu pudding with vermicelli, pan-fried rice noodles, five-spice skewers, fruit strips, braised noodles, zongzi, and triangular pies. The South Shixing Road in the district is the only remaining flagstone-paved road in the urban area.
