Red Hawthorns in Lianghouzhuang Village
Surrounded by mountains on all sides, Lianghouzhuang Village is widely known as the “Hometown of Hawthorns,” with a history of hawthorn cultivation spanning over a hundred years. The planting area covers more than 2,000 acres, yielding an annual production of 2 to 3 million kilograms of hawthorns. Thanks to the region’s fertile soil, excellent water quality, and unique microclimate, the hawthorns produced here are thin-skinned, large, high in sugar content, and have a soft, tender texture, making them highly favored in the market. In 2010, local villagers established a sales cooperative and registered the trademark “Shan Galah” (meaning “Mountain Corner”).
