　　Baoying Purple Round Arrowhead is a specialty of Baoying County, Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province. Baoying is renowned as the "Hometown of Arrowhead in China." Baoying arrowhead became an imperial tribute as early as the Tang Dynasty and was listed as an important local product during the Qing Dynasty. Baoying arrowhead is a recognized geographical indication agricultural product.

To make full use of the abundant arrowhead resources, enhance the image of Baoying arrowhead products, promote the growth and strengthening of the Baoying arrowhead industry, and apply for recognition as a "National Geographical Indication Product," a staff member from the county's Agriculture and Rural Affairs Commission recently visited the Baoying County Archives to consult historical materials related to Baoying arrowhead. Our archives staff provided valuable collections including the "Daoguang Baoying County Annals," "Republican-Era Baoying County Annals," as well as seven other regional history and cultural resources such as the "Baoying Yearbook" and "Chronicle of Major Events in Baoying." These provided strong supporting evidence for the successful application of Baoying arrowhead as a "National Geographical Indication Product."

　　Baoying arrowhead is a recognized geographical indication agricultural product. The production area covers six towns in the eastern marsh region of Baoying: Guangyang Lake, Sheyang Lake, Xi’anfeng, Caodian, Wangzhi Port, and Luduo. The geographical coordinates are between 119°07′43″ to 119°42′51″ east longitude and 33°02′46″ to 33°24′55″ north latitude.
