Jinxiu Yellow Peach is a specialty of Guangming Town and a renowned, high-quality fruit of Shanghai, registered under the trademark "Jinxiu Yellow Peach." In 1986, it won the First Prize for Scientific and Technological Achievements in Shanghai. In 1989, it was designated as a production base for Shanghai’s renowned, high-quality fruits. In 1991, it was listed as a production base for Shanghai’s Harvest Project. In 1992, it was named one of the ten major agricultural development product bases in suburban counties. Qingcun Town is the only production base for Jinxiu Yellow Peach in Shanghai. Feng Guoqin, currently the Vice Mayor of Shanghai, affirmed the development potential of Jinxiu Yellow Peach in Qingcun Town, Fengxian District, when he served as the Party Secretary of Fengxian at the time. Today, Qingcun Town has become a fruit-producing town in Shanghai with over 10,000 mu of Jinxiu Yellow Peach orchards, adding color to the city’s fruit market.

This yellow peach is easy to store, generally keeping for 7–10 days after harvest. Thanks to its thick and firm flesh, it is well-suited for long-distance transportation. It has an attractive appearance, with golden-yellow flesh, a neat and uniform shape, and an average weight of over 200 grams per fruit, reaching up to around 400 grams at maximum. Its sugar content is higher than that of Nanhui juicy peaches and Wuxi flat peaches, averaging between 13–15 degrees Brix, and it has a small pit. When ripe, the flesh is relatively soft yet still firm to the bite, sweet with minimal acidity, aromatic, with moderate moisture content, and an appealing flavor. The peak ripening period is generally from mid-August to early September, making it a fine choice in the autumn fruit market.
