Fengxian Okra is a Shanghai Intangible Cultural Heritage.

　　Fengxian Okra has been successfully included in the "2015 National Directory of Famous, Special, and High-quality New Agricultural Products."

　　Okra is a representative specialty vegetable of Fengxian District. Although okra has been grown as a vegetable in Fengxian for over a decade, cultivation was limited and scattered. However, in recent years, with the growing awareness of health and wellness, the past three to four years have seen rapid development—both large-scale cooperatives and individual rural farms are now cultivating it. The production of okra has brought a new growth point for local farmers, and Fengxian has seized the opportunity to develop okra farming, establishing it as a signature vegetable of the district.
