Shanghai embroidery includes seven major categories: embroidery, drawnwork, machine embroidery, embroidered garments, printed goods, carpets, and artistic tapestries. Shanghai embroidery is most famous for Gu embroidery, which has a history of four to five hundred years. Shanghai carpets are known for their delicate craftsmanship and elegant patterns, with handmade wool carpets being the main products, along with silk rugs and others. Artistic tapestries can effectively portray the artistic effects of oil paintings and traditional Chinese paintings, making them an elegant and dignified addition to interior decor.
