Yanqing Apricots
Yanqing is home to the largest apricot orchard base in North China. It's currently the peak season for fresh apricot picking, with over 100,000 acres of apricot trees bursting with bright red fruit. Step into Yanqing’s sightseeing and picking gardens, and you'll be greeted by the rich fragrance of apricots. Strings and clusters of plump, crimson apricots hang heavily from the branches—absolutely stunning.
Yanqing grows over 160 varieties of fresh apricots, including Camel Yellow, Gourd, Green Honey Sand, Mian Tou, Red Golden Hazelnut, Red Lotus Bud, Silver White Apricot, and String Branch Red. The early-ripening Camel Yellow apricot can grow up to about 5 cm in diameter and weigh as much as 90 grams. Yanqing’s Xinzhuangbao in Xiangying Township has nearly 10,000 acres of fresh apricot orchards, making it the largest apricot base in North China.
