Siberian Tiger
Siberian Tiger
Also known as the Amur Tiger, the Siberian Tiger originated in Northeast Asia, namely the Siberian region of Russia, North Korea, and Northeast China, and has a evolutionary history of three million years. It is the largest subspecies of feline currently in existence. Male Siberian Tigers can reach a body length of about 2.8 meters, with a tail length of approximately 1 meter, and a weight close to 350 kilograms. Their summer coat is brownish-yellow, while their winter coat is pale yellow. The back and sides are marked with multiple rows of narrow black stripes, usually with two close together forming a willow-leaf shape. They have large, round heads, and several black stripes on the forehead, often connected in the middle, closely resembling the Chinese character for “king” (王), hence earning them the noble title of “King of the Jungle.”
