Red-flowered peas
Wheat peas, also known as red-flowered peas, are a traditional winter crop that serves both as a grain and a fertilizer. They have a relatively short growth period, strong cold resistance, are not afraid of frost, and offer relatively stable yields.
Editing Section: Cultivation Techniques
1. Site and Seed Selection. Choose semi-sandy loam fields with good drainage for planting, and practice crop rotation every other year. Plow the land deeply, apply sufficient base fertilizer, and ensure adequate soil moisture. Select high-quality, disease-resistant varieties, and treat the seeds with seed coating agents plus a new type of film coating (which can effectively isolate viral infections without affecting germination and swelling functions, enhance respiration intensity, and improve seed germination rates). 2. Timely Early Sowing, Ridge Formation, and Rational Planting Density. The entire growth period of wheat peas is about 105 days. Sow around the time of “Minor Snow” to avoid the impact of late-season rainy and overcast weather on flowering and fruit setting. You may adopt semi-prepared or fully prepared land sowing methods, forming flat ridges with a width of 1.6–2 m, and plant at a row and plant spacing of 23 cm × 20 cm. Use dibbling for sowing, placing 4–5 seeds per hole, with a seeding rate of 6.5–7.5 kg per mu. Cover the seeds with 2 cm of soil after sowing. 3. Field Management. Ensure sufficient water and fertilizer during the crop growth period, with a rational match of NPK ratios and soil moisture conditions. After rainfall, promptly drain ditches to thoroughly eliminate waterlogging in the field. When the plants begin to branch, spray Flower King No. 3 to suppress excessive growth of the main shoots, promote flower bud differentiation, increase flowering, and boost fruit setting. As the plants enter the flowering and pod-setting stage, spray Fruit and Vegetable Strong Stem before flowering to strengthen flowers and stems, enhance pollination quality, promote fruit development, and prevent empty or shriveled grains. 4. To prevent damage from leaf miners, during the initial and peak flowering periods, apply targeted pesticides along with a new type of film coating for control, in accordance with plant protection requirements.
