"Dabaqi" Onions
Dabaqi Village in Meilisi Daur Autonomous District, Qiqihar City, is nationally renowned for its onion cultivation and is hailed as the "Number One Onion Village in Northeast China." However, in recent years, vegetable farmers have been struggling with rising costs, poor sales channels, and low market prices. Led by large-scale grower Yan Jinggui, the village established an onion production and sales association composed of skilled onion growers and major distributors. This transformed the previously scattered and disorganized onion production and sales, strengthened cooperation among farmers, and led to significantly better prices for the village’s onions that year. "Dabaqi" Onions were designated as an official product of the Olympic Committee, received a nationally approved Grade A green food certification, and were exported to countries such as Russia, Japan, and Malaysia.
