TieLi "Chinese Forest Frog" Oil is a protected geographical indication product.

　　In late 2005, TieLi’s Chinese Forest Frog Oil was recognized as a geographical indication product by the national quality inspection authorities; in 2007, TieLi City was named a National Ecological Demonstration Zone; and in early 2008, the standardized demonstration zone for Forest Frog farming in TieLi was officially approved by the National Standardization Management Committee as a national-level standardized demonstration base; the College of Wildlife Resources at Northeast Forestry University cooperated with TieLi City to establish the China Forest Frog Research Institute; the College of Wildlife Resources at Northeast Forestry University and TieLi City jointly formed the Northeast Forestry University TieLi City China Forest Frog Research Institute, which also hosts the Amphibian Professional Committee of the China Wildlife Conservation Committee.

　　　　In recent years, leveraging its unique ecological resource advantages, TieLi City has collaborated with Northeast Forestry University and the China Wildlife Conservation Committee, integrating industry, academia, and research to successfully explore the path of artificial breeding and deep processing of the Chinese Forest Frog. It has obtained four national patents to date. Products such as Chinese Forest Frog Oil, Chinese Forest Frog Health Wine, Frog Bone High-Calcium Tablets, and Women's Beauty Forest Frog Egg Membrane Oral Pills have gained widespread popularity among consumers. Notably, Chinese Forest Frog Oil has gained recognition both domestically and internationally for its genuine high quality.

　　　　The Chinese Forest Frog (commonly known as Hasima), since the Ming Dynasty, has been an imperial tribute—a rare amphibious animal that combines medicinal use, dietary supplement, and beauty benefits. Forest Frog Oil refers to the fallopian tubes of female Forest Frogs and is a precious traditional Chinese medicine, especially from the Chinese Forest Frog, which is larger in size and has higher oil content. The main active component in Forest Frog Oil is bufadienolide, which has the effects of “nourishing kidney essence, moistening lung and yin,” and is used to treat kidney deficiency, weak qi, exhaustion, memory loss, postpartum hemorrhage, insufficient lactation, and neurasthenia. Traditional Chinese medicine believes it can treat “pediatric hernia, relieve pain, eliminate fatigue, remove damp toxin, reduce swelling by promoting diuresis, and relieve cough due to deficiency,” offering special benefits for nourishing lung and kidney functions. Due to its unique medicinal and nutritional value, Chinese Forest Frog Oil is often referred to as "green soft gold."

　　　　According to tests conducted by authoritative domestic institutions, artificially bred Chinese Forest Frogs contain oil and effective components more than ten times higher than those of their wild counterparts. At present, the artificial farming of Chinese Forest Frogs in TieLi City has entered a sound development track characterized by scale, standardization, industrialization, and modernization. Its products sell well in domestic markets as well as in Europe, America, Japan, South Korea, and other countries and regions, becoming an effective means of increasing income for local farmers.

　　The protected geographical indication area for TieLi "Chinese Forest Frog" Oil is based on the scope proposed in the document "Request for Defining the Protected Geographical Indication Area of TieLi 'Chinese Forest Frog' Oil" (Tie Zheng Ban Fa [2005] No. 36) issued by the People’s Government of TieLi City, Heilongjiang Province. This includes the current administrative regions of seven towns in TieLi City, Heilongjiang Province: Shuangfeng Town, TieLi Town, Taoshan Town, Langxiang Town, Gongnong Township, Nianfeng Township, and Wangyang Township.
