The Northeast Matsutake Mushroom is highly nutritious, known for its benefits of “aiding digestion and benefiting the five internal organs.” It is primarily used to treat digestive disorders, chronic gastritis, duodenal ulcers, neurasthenia, as well as malignant tumors in the stomach and esophagus. This product uses high-quality matsutake from the Northeast, compressed and formed using advanced technology, which can enhance its nutritional value several times over. It is a premium mountain delicacy suitable for both state banquets and home dining. The mushroom is compact in size, easy to carry, has a long shelf life, quickly rehydrates and restores its texture, and is very convenient to use.

A specialty of the Northeast, the Matsutake Mushroom, also known as Monkey Head Mushroom, Cauliflower Fungus, Hedgehog Fungus, Face-to-Face Mushroom, or Mountain Hermit Fungus.

The fresh fruiting body of the Northeast Matsutake Mushroom is white, turning pale yellow or yellowish-brown when dried. It is blocky in shape, typically 5–20 cm in diameter. The fruiting body consists of many thick, short branches that are extremely plump and shortened, fusing with each other in a cauliflower-like formation, with only a small hollow in the center. The entire structure forms a large mass of flesh, narrowing at the base and swelling at the top, covered with needle-like spines. These spines bear the spore-producing layer. The spines are well-developed, some reaching up to 3 cm in length, hanging down, initially white and later turning yellowish-brown. The whole fruiting body resembles a monkey’s head in shape, and the color resembles a monkey’s fur, hence the name “Monkey Head Mushroom.”

The Northeast Matsutake Mushroom is highly nutritious. According to analysis, every 100 grams of dried matsutake contains 26.3 grams of protein, 4.2 grams of fat, 44.9 grams of carbohydrates, 6.4 grams of crude fiber, 10.2 grams of moisture, 856 mg of phosphorus, 18 mg of iron, 2 mg of calcium, 0.69 mg of vitamin B1, 1.89 mg of vitamin B2, 0.01 mg of carotene, as well as 16 kinds of amino acids, including 7 essential amino acids for the human body. Not only is the matsutake rich in nutrients, but it also tastes delicious, fragrant, and pleasant, making it a treasured variety among edible fungi.

The Northeast Matsutake Mushroom has unique medicinal value. Traditional medicine considers it neutral in nature and sweet in flavor, aiding digestion and benefiting the heart. It can help treat digestive disorders, gastric ulcers, antral gastritis, stomach pain, bloating, and neurasthenia. In recent years, research has highlighted its anti-cancer properties. In Shanghai, trials involving 166 cases of malignant digestive tumors such as gastric cancer, cardia cancer, and esophageal cancer showed an effectiveness rate of 69.3% and significant efficacy in 15%. For 227 cases of gastric and duodenal ulcers and chronic gastritis, improvement was seen in 86.6% of cases, with significant efficacy in 26.8%. It has been observed that after taking the mushroom, patients experienced improved symptoms, increased appetite, and alleviated pain. For some tumor patients, it also helped enhance cellular immune function, shrink tumors, and prolong survival time.
