Yanqing Apples
Yanqing Apples
Yanqing is located in the northwest of Beijing, about 70 kilometers from the city center, with an average altitude of over 500 meters. It enjoys abundant sunlight and large diurnal temperature variations, making it suitable for the growth of various deciduous fruit trees common in northern China. It is an ideal region for producing high-quality fruits.
Yanqing is a national-level ecological demonstration zone. Its favorable ecological environment provides the prerequisite conditions for producing high-quality fruits. Five of Yanqing’s fruit varieties—apricots, apples, grapes, plums, and chestnuts—have obtained ministerial and municipal-level green and safe fruit certifications. By the end of 2003, the total area of dried and fresh fruit orchards in Yanqing reached 240,000 mu, with a total fruit output of 50 million kilograms and a fruit industry output value of nearly 100 million yuan.
