Columbine
Also known as "Blood-seeing Sorrow." A perennial herb of the Ranunculaceae family. It has a monochasial cyme inflorescence. The flowers are yellowish-green with five petals, each bearing a curved spur. The leaves are ovate-triangular. It blooms in summer, with flowers appearing at the tips of branches; fruits appear in July, covered with dense short soft hairs. Columbine thrives on alpine slopes, forest edges, roadsides, and under sparse forests. Its entire plant can be used medicinally.
