Wafangdian Apples
Apple cultivation in Wafangdian City has a history of nearly 100 years, making it a world-renowned “hometown of apples.” The city has a total apple cultivation area of 650,000 mu, with 45 million fruit trees, an annual output of about 700,000 tons, and an output value of 3 billion yuan. Ten major high-quality fruit production bases have been established, with the area and yield of famous, special, high-quality, and new varieties of fruit both exceeding 90%. Wafangdian City is one of the national standardized production demonstration bases for high-quality fruits, and has been successively awarded titles such as “Top Ten Counties (Cities) in China for Pollution-Free Fruit and Vegetable Production” and “Top Ten Cities in China for the International Competitiveness of Fruit and Vegetable Agriculture.”
Wafangdian apples are known for their large size, bright red color, delicious taste, and thin skin, making them popular in both domestic and international markets and highly favored by consumers. Over 85% of the city’s fruit production area is covered by pollution-free, green food, and organic food certifications. Among these, apple varieties such as Fuji and Guoguang under the brands Dongmatun, Xinlong, Tianfulong, and Tuofeng have been honored as national famous-brand products.
