Xibao Village Fruits
Lianshan District is located in the northeast of Huludao City, Liaoning Province. Lianshan is a major fruit production base in Liaoning, boasting a wide variety of fruits and high yields, with grapes, plums, apples, and white pears being the most prominent, reaching an annual output of 100,000 tons.
Tashan Township's Xibao Village in Lianshan District is nestled between mountains and the sea, enjoying a mild climate that is highly suitable for fruit tree cultivation. With a population of 2,240 people, the village has nearly a century-long history of fruit tree planting. In 2004, Xibao Village joined forces with the Hongluo Fruit Professional Cooperative of Lianshan District to establish the Tashan Township Xibao Village Apple Production Base. In 2005, it was recognized as a pollution-free production base; in 2007, it was further certified as a green food production base. Relying on the Hongluo Fruit Professional Cooperative of Lianshan District, the village saw a sharp increase in sales, with high-quality fruits in such high demand that supply could hardly meet it.
Currently, Xibao Village’s fruit cultivation keeps pace with international markets, offering over a hundred varieties of Fuji apples alone, while the planting areas of spring snow peaches and large plums continue to expand year by year. Besides being popular in the domestic market, the fruits are also exported to Russia and North Korea. The entire village enjoys a per capita income exceeding ten thousand yuan, thanks to the fruit industry.
