Banshi沟 Jujubes

Banshi沟 Jujubes are produced in Banshi沟 Village, located at the northeastern foot of Xiaohongluo Mountain in Huludao City, and are well known for their abundant harvest of large, red jujubes. The jujubes here are large in size, thin-skinned, thick-fleshed, small-seeded, and highly nutritious. During the jujube harvest season, over 80,000 jujube trees spread across the hills and valleys are laden with bright, glossy fruit, creating a strikingly colorful spectacle, with an annual yield of around 500,000 jin. Banshi沟 Jujubes have been cultivated for over 200 years. Since the liberation, fruit farmers have carefully tended to the trees and managed them scientifically, leading to a steady increase in production year after year. There are mainly two varieties: the sweet and crisp Daleng jujube, and the Damu jujube, which is highly resistant to storage. Jujubes are extremely nutritious, containing not only sugar but also protein, fat, calcium, phosphorus, iron, and various vitamins. They can be processed into preserved jujubes, smoked jujubes, fermented jujubes, caramelized jujubes, canned jujubes, jujube paste, jujube wine, jujube vinegar, and other food products, and can also be used in medicine. Due to their wide range of uses, jujubes are highly popular in both domestic and international markets.
