Duck Pears
Duck Pears, also known as Elegant Pears, are an ancient and premium pear variety in China. The fruit is shaped like an inverted oval, with a protrusion near the stem that resembles a duck’s head, hence the name "Duck Pear." These pears have an attractive appearance, golden-yellow color, and an inverted oval shape, with a distinct protrusion at the base of the stem that looks like a duck’s head. Duck Pears have thin skin, small seeds, a rich fragrance, and a crisp, refreshing texture with a well-balanced sweet and sour flavor. They are uniquely flavorful and often referred to as "naturally bestowed nectar." Rich in sugar, vitamin C, calcium, phosphorus, iron, and other nutrients, they are especially outstanding among fruits for their abundant and comprehensive content of B vitamins. They offer health benefits such as clearing the heart and moistening the lungs, relieving coughs and calming wheezing, moisturizing dryness and easing bowel movements, as well as sobering up and detoxifying. The *Compendium of Materia Medica* describes the functions of Duck Pears as: “Raw ones clear heat from the six bowels, cooked ones nourish yin in the five organs.”
Duck Pears are suitable for processing into various nutritious foods such as pear preserves, pear cakes, and beverages. Nowadays, pears have diversified into many varieties, and Duck Pears are the most widely cultivated within the series, with annual production reaching hundreds of millions of kilograms. Their excellent quality makes them highly popular in southern China. Since 1972, they have gradually entered the international market and are now exported to dozens of countries and regions including Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Western Europe, the United States, Canada, and Australia, with an annual export volume of over 26,000 tons. Specifications: packed in cartons labeled #72, #80, #96, #112, and #140, with a net weight of 18kg or 15kg. Each pear is individually wrapped in paper and covered with a fruit net sleeve.
