　　Xinbin Manchu Autonomous County in Liaoning Province has identified the edible mushroom industry as the focus of its “one county, one industry” development strategy. A five-year plan for the edible mushroom industry has been formulated, and a three-tier management structure at the county, township, and village levels has been established to develop the industry. The county has prioritized the planning of a “four zones and one belt” layout for the edible mushroom industry: the eastern mushroom cultivation demonstration zone centered on Hongmiaozi Township, the southern mushroom cultivation advancement zone centered on Weiziyu Town, the western straw-rot fungus cultivation key zone centered on Muqi Town, the edible mushroom processing zone centered on the Xinbin Town Healthy Food Park, and the edible mushroom industry belt along the southeast highway with Shangjiahe Town and Yongling Town as the axis. The strategic blueprint for the county’s edible mushroom industry has taken shape, and the demonstration areas are accelerating the development of the industry across the county, with the nascent form of a northeastern shiitake mushroom industry base now visible.

　　　　To support the development of the shiitake mushroom industry, the county Party committee and government have introduced a comprehensive set of preferential policies. At the same time, technical instructors have been selected from among experienced farmers to provide round-the-clock, face-to-face guidance to mushroom growers. Technical training sessions are held during critical production periods, training over 5,000 mushroom growers annually. Long-term collaborations with scientific research institutions and universities have facilitated the introduction of new varieties and technologies, as well as experimental demonstrations. To enhance the edible mushroom industry’s role in driving the local economy, Xinbin has strengthened the development of markets and brokers, and vigorously promoted the growth of leading edible mushroom processing enterprises. The Hongsheng Shiitake Mushroom Market has attracted over 200 business operators from Shanghai and other regions, with annual dry and fresh shiitake mushroom transactions alone reaching 120 million yuan. Over 500 mushroom brokers across the county enable growers to sell their produce both domestically and internationally without leaving their homes. The expansion of sales and processing scales has fostered a virtuous cycle for the edible mushroom industry, resulting in the establishment of 10 standardized production zones across the county.

　　　　Over 20,000 farmers in Xinbin Manchu Autonomous County have increased their incomes and achieved prosperity through shiitake mushroom cultivation. Among the county’s 15 townships, 14 are engaged in the production of edible mushrooms, primarily shiitake mushrooms. The total area dedicated to shiitake mushroom cultivation alone exceeds 10,000 mu, with an annual output of 50,000 tons.
