“Boluo Pu Millet”: Made from foxtail millet harvested in Huashan (Huā’er Shān or Flower Mountain) of Boluo Pu Town, Dashiqiao City, Liaoning Province. The grains are large, yellow, and richly aromatic.

“Boluo Pu Millet” has a long history. The original Gaiping County Annals contains two records about it, one of which, in the “Various Categories of Products” section, states: “In the local dialect, unmilled millet is referred to as such; according to the ‘Flower Catalogue,’ it is called ‘sù’ (millet), and it is an important grain for the region. That produced near Huā’er Shān north of the city is particularly fine, and was offered as tribute during the early Qing Dynasty.” The Huā’er Shān of the early Qing Dynasty refers to today’s Huashan in Boluo Pu Town, Dashiqiao City. Due to the ideal microclimate of Huashan (Huā’er Shān), which is highly suitable for millet growth, the processed millet is rich in amino acids, vitamins B1, B2, and other nutrients, offering high nutritional value.

According to analysis by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Boluo Pu Millet contains 12.3% protein, 5.26% fat, 74.95% crude starch, and 0.26% lysine, along with abundant vitamins and various trace elements. It is highly nutritious and of excellent quality, making it one of the most popular emerging pollution-free foods on the market today.
