Gaizhou Jellyfish

　　Gaizhou is a national production and export base for jellyfish, accounting for 80‰ of the province's exports and 60‰ of the country's. Jellyfish, also known as sea jellies, is mentioned in Chen Cangqi’s “Supplement to Materia Medica,” where it was originally called sea snake. After being caught and processed by fishermen, its cap-like umbrella part is called “white skin,” while its oral arms and tentacles are referred to as jellyfish head. It is an aquatic product with extremely low fat content, rich in protein and inorganic salts. Consumption of it has effects such as dilating blood vessels, reducing inflammation, soothing flatulence, and improving digestion, making it highly favored by consumers.
