Jianping Ceramics
Jianping has a long history of ceramic production. The county is rich in mineral resources, with all the raw materials required for ceramic bodies—such as porcelain clay, silica stone, wollastonite, purple leaf stone, bentonite, and kaolin—available locally at 100%. However, despite these abundant resources, the local ceramics industry had not been able to grow significantly over the years. In 2003, after investigation and evaluation, they realized that establishing an industrial park would not only attract external funding and merchants, but also introduce advanced technology and high-tech industries. Vision determines the path forward. Starting from August 6, 2003, a full-county effort to build the park’s infrastructure—including the “three supplies and one leveling” (water, electricity, roads, and site leveling)—officially commenced. By October of last year, when the park was officially completed and inaugurated, the scale of the campaign, the massive mobilization of manpower and vehicles, and the unprecedented enthusiasm across the county all marked a historic first.
The Jianping County area features crisscrossing mountain ranges and abundant non-metallic mineral resources. Among those extensively mined and utilized are porcelain clay, wollastonite, silica stone, feldspar, purple leaf stone, bentonite, and kaolin—minerals that are highly suitable for use as raw materials in architectural ceramics.
