This shows just how precious Maojian tea is. Some of the more well-known varieties include Xinyang Maojian and Duyun Maojian. And today, we are going to introduce you to Duyun Maojian.

Originally named Yugou Tea, Duyun Maojian is a premium variety of high-end green tea produced in Qiannan Buyei and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province, China. Its core production area is located in Duyun City, known as the "Global Green City" and "China's Capital of Maojian Tea." Duyun Maojian is characterized by its visible white pekoe, tightly rolled and slender strips that curve like fishhooks, as well as a rich and lasting aroma, clear and bright liquor, fresh and refreshing taste with a sweet aftertaste, and bright leaves with plump buds. It is renowned worldwide for its "three greens and three yellows" quality traits — namely, the dry tea has a green hue with a touch of yellow, the tea liquor is green tinged with yellow, and the infused leaves show green highlighted by yellow.

Duyun Maojian is one of China’s Top Ten Regional Tea Brands, one of China’s Top Ten Famous Teas, and a Century Expo Famous Tea. In 1915, Duyun Maojian won the "Panama-Pacific International Exposition Quality Award." In Guizhou, there’s a saying: "In the north, there’s Renhuai Moutai liquor; in the south, there’s Duyun Maojian tea."
