Golden Pheasant
The Liupan Mountains are densely forested, fragrant with blossoms and lush with greenery, making them a paradise for birds. Various chirping birds can often be spotted in the woods, but the most beloved is the vibrantly colored Golden Pheasant
The Golden Pheasant is considered the finest among mountain birds due to its extraordinarily enchanting colors. Also known as the "Golden Rooster" or simply "Pheasant," it is small in body with a long tail, exuding graceful charm. Its head features a golden-yellow, silky crest that drapes loosely over the neck. The back of the neck is surrounded by fan-shaped feathers in shades of golden-brown, resembling a shawl. The upper back displays dense spots of deep green shading into black, transitioning to golden-yellow around the waist. Its tail, about one meter long, consists of feathers ranging between dark brown and osmanthus yellow—yellow tinged with black, and black infused with gold—strikingly beautiful. The belly is adorned with a splash of deep red, which is especially captivating. It is precisely because of its dazzlingly colorful feathers that the Golden Pheasant is often kept for ornamental purposes, and its pelt serves as a beautiful decorative item. (Yinchuan)
