　　Lingwu Long Jujube is a unique variety from Lingwu City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, with a long cultivation history, superior genetics, and high-quality fresh fruits. The fruit has a delicious taste, crisp texture, abundant juice, pale greenish-white flesh, high edible rate, and rich nutritional value.

　　Also known as "Horse-Tooth Jujube," Lingwu Long Jujube is a premium local variety characterized by vigorous trees, upright posture, strong branching ability, and easy sprouting of new shoots. The fruit is medium to large, oblong in shape. It averages 18.1g per fruit, with a maximum weight of 26.8g. The fruit stem is long, with a deep and wide stem cavity and flat shoulders. The skin is purplish-red with reddish-brown dots that are not very prominent. The thin skin covers crisp, dense, greenish-white flesh that is juicy, sweet with a pleasant tartness, and of excellent quality. The fresh jujube contains 30% sugar, 0.25% acid, has a 95.5% edible rate, and a 37.2% drying rate. This variety is highly cold-resistant, tolerant to salinity and alkalinity, thrives with water and fertilizer, and may crack slightly after rain. It is an outstanding dual-purpose variety for fresh consumption and processing. Best eaten fresh, it also makes uniquely flavored wine jujubes. It is a key promoted variety in Ningxia’s Yellow River Irrigation District. (Lingwu)

　　In 2006, Lingwu City was approved by the State Forestry Administration as the “Hometown of Lingwu Long Jujube in China,” and the Lingwu Long Jujube was recognized by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine as a “Protected Geographical Indication Product.” In 2007, Lingwu City was elected as the first rotating chair unit of the China Date Main Producing Areas Collaboration Group. The city successfully hosted the second and third Lingwu Long Jujube Festivals in Shanghai and Shenzhen. In 2008, the “Lingdan” brand Lingwu Long Jujube was honored by the Ministry of Agriculture as a “China Famous Brand Agricultural Product.” Seven product brands, including “Lingdan” and “Lingwu Hong,” obtained ISO9001:2000 international quality management system certification and A-level certification from the National Green Food Development Center. The “Lingdan” brand Lingwu Long Jujube won the Award for Premium Products at the 2003 China Beijing Sand Industry Expo and the Silver Award at the 2004 China Shanghai Forestry Expo. A 20,000-mu green food production base for Lingwu Long Jujube received origin certification. The “10,000-Mu Lingwu Long Jujube National Standardization Demonstration Garden,” “Ningxia Lingwu Long Jujube Modern Agriculture Demonstration Garden,” and “Lingwu Long Jujube Organic Food Production Demonstration Site” were also established.
