As people increasingly favor natural foods, wild mountain greens have become popular in the market. Many entrepreneurial farmers are now busy harvesting these wild greens. Though they may seem unremarkable, wild vegetables can bring in substantial income. “Bracken fern sells quickly—I sell 20 to 40 jin a day, earning several hundred yuan!” said a villager from Maiji Town who sells wild vegetables, beaming with joy.

　　“Wild greens at this time of year are fresh and nutritious—they’re natural and green foods that my whole family loves. I’m planning to buy more today. After this season, wild mountain vegetables just don’t taste the same,” said Auntie Li, who was picking through the wild greens. Ms. Wang, who was selecting bitter greens, added that she pickles the bracken fern and makes cold salads with the bitter greens. These dishes not only help lower blood pressure but also taste delicious, and her family enjoys them very much. In the past, wild vegetables were rarely seen at formal meals, but now they’ve become everyday fare for ordinary families.
