　　The handmade winnowing basket is a well-known local specialty product of Zhengning County, celebrated for centuries and much admired.

　　This place famous for making handmade winnowing baskets is Hetaoyu Village in Zhoujia Township. The village is mainly composed of people with the surname Yang, consisting of about 300 households and over 1,400 residents. The skill of weaving winnowing baskets was brought by the Yang ancestors when they migrated from Houma Township, Quwo County, Shanxi Province in 1489, and has a history of over 500 years. The winnowing baskets of Hetaoyu are particularly famous precisely because of their unique qualities.
