Ganquan County in Shaanxi Province is located in the central part of Yan'an City, on the southeastern edge of the Shaanbei inclined plateau within the Ordos Basin, situated in the central part of the Shaanbei Plateau Depression — a hilly and gully region of the Loess Plateau. The area features wind-blown loess with deep topsoil layers, including well-developed cultivated and matured soil layers, subsoil layers, and soil substrate layers, all rich in nutrients, making it highly suitable for the various nutritional requirements of red adzuki beans. The area has an annual accumulated temperature ≥10°C averaging 3047°C, with an 80% assurance rate of 2970°C, and a frost-free period of 150 days — all of which fully meet the accumulated temperature needs during the bean crop growing season and are conducive to the growth of red adzuki beans. Additionally, the county is abundant in water resources with high-quality water suitable for irrigation and human and livestock consumption, providing premium water sources for the growth of red adzuki beans. As a result, the produced red adzuki beans are rich in various minerals and trace elements. The beans are large, plump, and brightly colored, with high yields, high extraction rates, and high sand (kernel) rates.

Due to Ganquan County’s unique geographical location and superior natural conditions, a distinctive microclimate has formed, which is highly suitable for the growth of red adzuki beans and other leguminous crops. The product maintains consistently high quality year-round, enjoys enduring market popularity, and holds a strong reputation in both domestic and international markets, earning the nickname "Red Agate." The cultivation of red adzuki beans has become an important source of income for local farmers in Ganquan County and a key agricultural export product for Shaanxi Xingyin International Trade Co., Ltd.
