　　Zhennuan straw paper, also known as handmade paper, has a long production history, with a legend saying it dates back thousands of years. The entire process is done by hand, using bamboo strips as raw material. It involves over 30 procedures such as hemp beating, residue steaming, crushing, rinsing, and sun-drying on bamboo screens. It is a “straw paper” made without actual straw. The paper surface is smooth and flat, with even thickness and no pulp fibers. The texture is soft, tough, and delicate, with strong water absorption. Due to its excellent paper quality, it is in high demand and exported as far as Kunming, Laos, and Myanmar. It is produced in Zhedong and Wenlong.
