Boba
In a transparent cup, there are crispy little pieces of bread, topped with fresh coconut shreds, sitting atop milky water dotted with ice cubes, and adorned with a colorful straw—extremely vibrant in color. Boba is made with sago, condensed milk, specially made dried bread, fresh coconut shreds, plus ice and water, giving off an incredibly sweet aroma. The best part is actually the dried bread, soaked in the richly milky icy water—it’s crispy, crunchy, sweet, and simply absolutely delicious!
This delicious little snack is a specialty of Ruili in Yunnan, a drink in Dai cuisine, though some say it's a cold sweet beverage introduced from Thailand. It’s all the rage throughout the seasons except winter.
