Qian Dong Grassland Ecological Goose
Qian Dong Grassland Ecological Goose is a specialty from Pan Shi Town, Songtao County, Tongren City, Guizhou Province, located in the Qian Dong Grassland. The geese feed on Chinese herbal plants and drink mineral water, making them genuinely ecological food.
Qian Dong Grassland is located in Pan Shi Town, Songtao County, featuring typical karst landforms, at an altitude of 800–1300 meters, and spans tens of thousands of acres, forming a pristine green scenic area. The Qian Dong Grassland, along with nearby attractions such as Miao Wangcheng (the Miao King’s City), Xiangshui Thousand-Mu Terraced Fields, and Zhenyuan Ancient Town, form the Songtao tourism route.
In 2010, Pan Shi Town in Songtao Miao Autonomous County successfully developed the “Qian Dong Grassland” forage-based animal husbandry industry, raising 5,000 Qian Dong Grassland Ecological Geese. These are local geese, raised for 6 to 8 months, allowed to graze freely on the grasslands of Qian Dong Grassland from a young age, resulting in pollution-free growth. The goose meat is tender, soft, fragrant, and not greasy, classifying it as high-grade ecological meat. According to Compendium of Materia Medica (Bencao Gangmu), “Goose meat benefits the five internal organs, clears their heat, and quenches thirst...” making it an excellent choice for dietary therapy.
