　　Red Heart Plum is a unique local specialty of Shiqian and is widely distributed throughout the region. After the Dragon Boat Festival each year, the plums come onto the market. The fruit is apple-shaped, with a smooth skin that is emerald green tinged with red and covered in a waxy bloom. The flesh is blood-red. It tastes delicious, with fine and crisp texture, a well-balanced sweet and sour flavor, and a long aftertaste. Rich in nutrients, it also helps quench thirst and invigorate the spleen and appetite, making it an excellent summer fruit.

　　Red Heart Plum trees are highly adaptable, not fussy about soil, resistant to both heat and cold, highly prolific, have a short growing season, and are early-maturing with high yields. They can bear fruit within three years of planting. In recent years, farmers in Shiqian have made the cultivation of Red Heart Plum trees a key species for developing home garden economies.
