Rongjiang Rock Sugar Oranges
The parent plants of Rongjiang Rock Sugar Oranges were originally introduced from Qianyang County in Hunan Province. Thanks to our county’s mild climate, abundant rainfall, and fertile soil, the trees grow vigorously with lush foliage. The oranges are uniform in size, smooth-skinned, brightly colored, thin-peeled, and have few seeds. Their flesh is tender, juicy, fragrant, and pleasantly sweet with a balanced acidity. They have a soluble solids content of over 13%, help clear internal heat, enhance flavor, are rich in various vitamins, and store well. These oranges once won the top fruit award at the Second China Agricultural Expo.
Since entering the market, these oranges have been widely loved by consumers both within and outside the province. They have broad market potential and promising development prospects. To date, the county has developed over 17,000 acres of this variety, with an annual production of more than 2,000 tons, making it the largest, highest-yielding, and best-quality rock sugar orange production base in the province.
