Miao Family's Hundred-Flower Tea
Miao Family's Hundred-Flower Tea
Method of making: (1) Cut winter melon and pomelo peel into finger-sized strips or slices of various shapes, then carve various flowers, plants, birds, and animals on them to form auspicious and propitious patterns.
(2) Soak the carved winter melon peel and pomelo peel in diluted limewater to remove their raw, astringent, and bitter taste, then boil them over a low heat together with copper and alum to restore their green color, keeping them fresh, crisp, and tender; drain the water, then mix in an appropriate amount of white sugar, honey, and osmanthus flavoring, and dry repeatedly in the sun until they become as transparent as jade.
(3) When serving, place a few slices into boiling tea water to brew, resulting in richly sweet and fragrant Hundred-Flower Tea. Characteristics: Exquisitely carved, featuring a wide variety of designs, sweet and richly aromatic, appetizing and thirst-quenching.
