Dongxing Chili is a protected geographical indication product.

　　The Baihe Tianfu Chili City in Dongxing District is the largest chili wholesale market in Sichuan Province. Dongxing Chili is renowned across Sichuan and neighboring provinces and cities for its bright red color, spicy flavor, and delicious taste.

　　Since the 1960s, Dongxing District has widely promoted the cultivation of facing-heaven chilies. After over 40 years of development, nearly 50,000 acres of facing-heaven chilies are now grown in the district. Dongxing Chili has been awarded a protected geographical indication product.

　　Since the 1960s, Dongxing District of Neijiang City has widely promoted the cultivation of facing-heaven chilies. After over 40 years of development, nearly 50,000 acres of facing-heaven chilies are now grown in the district, distributed across Baihe Town and 12 surrounding townships. With the brand "Dongxing Chili," the annual sales volume of facing-heaven chilies reaches 30,000 tons, earning Baihe Town the reputation of the "Chili City of Sichuan."

　　Dongxing District is a well-known chili production base. Thanks to strong support, active guidance, and widespread promotion of new technologies and varieties, a contiguous chili industry belt has been formed across 12 townships including Baihe, Liuqiao, and Taian, covering 53,000 acres of chili cultivation. The annual production of high-quality summer chilies such as Korean millet chili, local facing-heaven chili, and Qixing chili reaches 79,500 tons, generating an output value of 398 million yuan.

　　In accordance with the Regulations on the Protection of Geographical Indication Products, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine organized experts to review the application for the protection of the Dongxing Chili geographical indication product. Upon successful review, Dongxing Chili was approved as a protected geographical indication product, with protection taking effect immediately.

　　(1) Place of Origin.

　　The place of origin for Dongxing Chili includes the current administrative regions of 25 townships and subdistrict offices in Dongxing District, Neijiang City, Sichuan Province: Dongxing Subdistrict Office, Baihe Town, Gaoliang Town, Dazhi Township, Yongfu Township, Shizi Town, Suzhou Township, Yangjia Town, Xindian Township, Taian Township, Pingtan Township, Shunhe Town, Tianjia Town, Liuqiao Township, Fuxi Township, Shuangqiao Township, Tongfu Township, Guobei Town, Binan Township, Zhongshan Township, Xiaohekou Town, Yongdong Township, Shuangcai Town, Bimu Town, and Sanlie Township.

　　(2) Use of Special Mark.

　　Producers within the place of origin of Dongxing Chili may apply to the Quality and Technical Supervision Bureau of Dongxing District, Neijiang City, Sichuan Province, for the use of the "Special Mark for Geographical Indication Products." Upon review and approval by the Sichuan Provincial Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision and authorization by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, the mark will be officially announced. The designated statutory inspection agency for Dongxing Chili is appointed by the Sichuan Provincial Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision.
