Xiushan Kiwifruit
Kiwifruit is often praised as the "king of fruits," the "fruit of longevity," and the "healing hand." The fruit is tender, juicy, sweet and tangy, with a delightful fragrance, making it a highly nutritious fruit that contains abundant organic substances such as sugars, proteins, amino acids, as well as essential minerals including calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, iron, dietary fiber, carotene, protein, chlorophyll, polyphenols, and more. It has certain therapeutic effects on conditions such as cancer, cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, constipation, and obesity. Its soluble solid content ranges from 14% to 20%, and the vitamin C content in every 100 grams of fruit flesh exceeds 100 milligrams. High-end varieties such as red-fleshed and yellow-fleshed kiwifruit can reach over 300 milligrams—5 to 10 times that of citrus fruits, and 15 to 30 times that of fruits like apples. According to tests conducted by the Food Research Center at Rutgers University in the United States, kiwifruit is the most nutritionally rich and comprehensive among all fruits. Kiwifruit can be processed into various products such as juice, dried fruit, jam, nutritional food, and health food, offering great potential for added value through processing. Compared to kiwifruit from other regions, Xiushan kiwifruit boasts four major advantages: well-shaped fruit, high sugar content, unified harvesting, and the use of organic fertilizers.
Industry Development: Currently, Xiushan has only one kiwifruit company—the Chongqing Xinxian Ecological Agriculture Co., Ltd. Adopting a "company + specialized cooperatives + technology-leading households + farmers" model, it cultivates four kiwifruit varieties: red-fleshed, yellow-fleshed, golden, and Hayward. The industry is spread across over 20 towns and townships in Xiushan County, including Cenxi, Xiaoxi, Qingxi, and Lanqiao, covering a plantation area of more than 27,000 mu. It has established the largest kiwifruit base in Chongqing. The "Xinxian" brand Hongyang kiwifruit has been recognized as a well-known trademark and awarded the honorary title of "China Famous Fruit" by the China Fruit Marketing Association. Cenxi Township has been named the "Hometown of Kiwifruit in China" by the China Fruit Marketing Association, and has obtained GLOBALGAP (abbreviated as GAP) certification as well as national organic food base and product certifications. The company has successively signed kiwifruit purchase and export contracts with German global second-largest fresh fruit supplier, UNIVEG Delhaize, and Hong Kong Yesheng International Trading Company.
