A traditional specialty fruit of Rong'an, Liuzhou, renowned as the "longevity fruit." It contains various nutrients essential to the human body such as sugar, acid, and vitamin C, and offers benefits like soothing indigestion, reducing phlegm, quenching thirst, and promoting saliva production.

Rong'an kumquat is a type of kumquat named after its place of origin in Rong'an County. For more information on kumquats, please refer to the kumquat encyclopedia. Rong'an kumquats mainly come in two types: "smooth-skinned kumquat" and "regular kumquat." They are oval-shaped, juicy, sweet, golden in color, and weigh about 15g per fruit. Harvesting begins in November every year. These fruits are not only visually appealing but also rich in vitamin C, kumquat glycosides, and other beneficial components that help maintain cardiovascular health and prevent conditions like arteriosclerosis and hypertension. As a dietary supplement, candied kumquats can stimulate appetite, kumquat juice helps relieve thirst, and combining kumquat juice with radish or pear juice can be used to treat coughs.

Rong'an County has long been known as the "hometown of kumquats." In 2014, the county had a kumquat planting area of 90,000 acres, with an annual output of over 80,000 tons. Rong'an kumquats have gained international acclaim for their large quantity and high quality. In 1985, Kim Il-sung, then President of North Korea, specifically requested to taste Rong'an kumquats during his visit to China. Later that year, at the Ningbo Kumquat Symposium held in November, Rong'an kumquats were ranked first in the nation. In 1988, they debuted at the Beijing Trade Fair and were awarded the title of National Quality Product. In 1993 and 1994, they received awards for superior Guangxi fruit. In 2004, the region was certified as a Guangxi non-polluted fruit production base; in 2005, the product itself was certified as non-polluted; and in 2007, the "Rong'an Kumquat" designation received a Protected Geographical Indication trademark. In 2009, it was honored with an Excellence Award at the 6th China-ASEAN Expo in the Guangxi Agricultural Achievements Exhibition. In 2011, it earned national Geographical Indication Product Protection Certification, along with A-grade National Green Food Certification in the same year.

The premium varieties of Rong'an kumquats mainly include "Rong'an Kumquat" and "Rong'an Smooth-Skinned Kumquat." The "Rong'an Kumquat" features large size, thin peel, strong sweetness, and few seeds. The "Rong'an Smooth-Skinned Kumquat" boasts smooth, fine, and sunken oil cells on its peel, resulting in a crisp texture, sweet flavor, and no sourness or spiciness, making it an even more refined delicacy. Rong'an kumquats make excellent gifts for visiting relatives and friends. They begin ripening and go on sale in November, with the harvesting and selling season extending until March of the following year.

The production area of Rong'an kumquats covers the entire administrative region of Rong'an County, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
