Miao Mountain Fragrant Cattle
1. Growing Environment
Miao Mountain Fragrant Cattle is one of the “Three Fragrances” of our county. In counties such as Gunbei Township, Hemu Town, and Ancui Township, there are contiguous grasslands covering over 5,000 acres that remain largely in their natural state. Grazing is the primary method, and the fragrant cattle feed year-round on high-quality green grass and tree leaves.
2. Morphological and Quality Characteristics
Miao Mountain Fragrant Cattle are mainly yellow, brown, or black in color. They have thin skin and fine bones, a broad and deep body frame that hangs low, with well-developed and evenly distributed muscles and subcutaneous fat. Their limbs have fine and short bones, with inconspicuous joints. The meat is tender, low in cholesterol and fat, delicious in taste, highly nutritious, and boasts a unique flavor.
3. Distribution and Scale
These cattle are distributed across all 20 townships in the county. Currently, the population of Miao Mountain Fragrant Cattle stands at 70,000, with an annual slaughter of 40,000. Breeding enterprises include Rongshui County Laogeng Animal Husbandry Co., Ltd. and Rongshui Qinglin Mountain Cattle Farm.
